Let’s take a walk down #TEAMBDOLLJOURNEY! Late January of 2021, after a few special doctors’ appointments, Ms. Babydoll and her family were overwhelmed by the news that she had recently been diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. It was aggressive and moving rapidly, the doctors had to move fast.
Ms. Babydoll did not let this news tear her down, instead she used her blessings and ____ as inspiration, not only for herself but for the people around her. She would spend the next few weeks celebrating life and doing the things that she loved to do with the people that she loved the most! She smiled through the news, the appointments and the thought of the changes that would occur. She created an all-star support team and began sharing her journey on Facebook. She stayed uplifted through phone calls, virtual parties, wig shopping and the never-ending flow of thoughtful gifts and cards.
February 26th, the day of her first chemo treatment was here before we knew it. She took it like a champ, she had a total of 6 treatments in her therapy plan. It wasn’t until April when Ms. Babydoll began to feel the chemotherapy begin to take over her health and body, still pushing through, she made it to the end, finishing her last treatment on June 11th! That day was a victorious day for everyone! The moment she rang that bell, she knew she had survived something unimagined. She was shocked to walk out the doors of University Hospitals to see all of her amazing family and friends cheering her on with banners, balloons, smiles, air hugs and claps! We ended that moment of happiness and celebration in prayer. Our Queen DID IT! Fast forward to today, as Ms. Babydoll is being nursed back to health, she plans to begin her radiation treatments on September 21st.
She is ready to begin this last leg of her journey! She thanks everyone for all of their love, support, prayers, calls, cards, and advice during this time. The lord is not done with our survivor!
