I cannot believe it is the 25th anniversary of the horrific tragedy of 9/11. I was a first year employee at JPM when fellow colleagues of mine said they just saw a plane fly over our midtown skyscaper right into the Twin Towers. And then another one. I'll never forger the feelings of confusion, shock, anger, and despair. The events of the day remained forever ingrained, and we must never forget in honor of all those who lost their lives.
I became a volunteer firefighter with the Plandome Fire Department in 2016 and this will be my 8th year running in the Tunnel to Towers event. I am extraordinarily proud of what our department has done to support this organization over the years, and I expect this year we will shatter our team and personal fundraising records. Last year with your generous support, I raised $36,000 - and was a Top 3 fundraiser for the entire event. This year I am asking you to dig a little deeper and support me as I am embark on my most audacious goal yet - $50,000! As usual - I will be running in my firefighting gear alongside my family to honor Steven Siller and our many brave heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our citizens and defend our freedoms.
Your support goes a long way to help the Tunnel to Towers Foundation carry forward a legacy of courage and heroism. Built upon the mantra, “While we have time, "LET US DO GOOD,” the Foundation supports our nation’s fallen and catastrophically injured first responders, military heroes and their families.
Forever grateful,
Jim
