The Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association (OPPA)'s Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Social Justice Committee created a an OPPA team in support of the APA's Division of Diversity and Health Equity to join us in combating mental health inequities facing young people of color and in honoring mental health advocate Bebe Moore Campbell. Your time and dollars go a long way in making a difference for young people of color facing the mental health challenges and the impact of systemic racism.
Register today and get ready to run, walk, and roll with us in-person on Saturday, July 20th in Maryland or in your own community to show support. Your efforts help promote awareness about and raise funds to support community organizations that have undertaken innovative awareness programs and/or have provided services to improve the mental health of young people of color. Bebe Moore Campbell was an American author, journalist, teacher, and mental health advocate who worked tirelessly to shed light on the mental health needs of the Black community and other underrepresented communities.
While we may not be able to attend the walk in-person in Maryland, we invite you sign-up to conduct a virtual (or in-person) walk locally in your area. Once you are registered as an individual, we hope you will join the OPPA Team!
