As you know 22q is near and dear to my heart and this year I'm raising funds to support The 22q Family Foundation. This organization has a mission to raise awareness while connecting, supporting, and providing accurate information to families affected by this syndrome. Receiving a 22q diagnosis can come with a variety of unknowns, research, many sleepless nights, and worry. There are close to 200 features of this diagnosis, visible and invisible, with major complications often being: language and feeding delays, heart defects, immune deficiencies, mental health struggles, and learning difficulties in school. 90% of what this organization offers is free to individuals and families like mine. They provide educational consulting to educate the school staff on the unique learning style of our community, offer career coaching, scholarships, and organize in-person events for families and individuals to connect.
