Thank you to our friends, family, and community for coming and viewing/supporting/or joining us on the 40,000 step challenge! After RJ and I survived the AFE on Feb 1, 2020 I have felt very strongly to raise awareness and work closely with the AFE Foundation to make a difference for others impacted by an AFE and to help raise funds for research and education towards ending deaths/injuries caused by an AFE. We appreciate everyone’s love and support through this birth trauma. With love and gratitude Ryan, Courtney, Sammie and RJ

I am taking the Step Up For Moms: 40,000 Step Challenge to benefit the AFE Foundation, a cause that is important to me personally. 

What is the AFE Foundation?
The Amniotic Fluid Embolism Foundation, a non-profit organization, was established in 2008 to reduce maternal and infant mortality attributed to amniotic fluid embolism while helping those impacted navigate paths forward. Learn more at www.afesupport.org.

What is AFE?
Amniotic fluid embolism (AFE) is a sudden and unexpected life-threatening birth complication that can affect both mother and baby. It affects 1 in every 40,000 births and is often fatal.
