Mike’s Place is a nonprofit entity whose mission is to provide safe, supportive and clean living to young men in early stages of recovery from substance abuse.

We operate four recovery houses in Rockville, Maryland, two of which that have live-in group managers, having space for up to seven residents in each house. Treatment is not offered, and the residents pay a modest amount to help defray expenses. While some staples are supplied, the residents need to provide their own meals. We believe that having a positive, structured, recovery-centric environment allows the residents to better develop basic life and employment skills, while living in a positive, clean and supportive community. Suitable residents of the house are young male adults (generally in their twenties) who have 30+ days of clean time and a demonstrated commitment to recovery. We would expect people to stay in the house for a 6 to 12 to 18 month transition period.
