Red Shoe 5K Run & Walk is the signature annual fundraiser and largest community event for Ronald McDonald House Washington DC.
Now in its 16th year, the event brings together runners, walkers, sponsors, volunteers, Forever Families and supporters from across the region for an energizing day at National Harbor — including the Kids Fun Run, a joyful highlight where children dash in signature red capes.
Hosted by Doug Kammerer, Storm Team4 Chief Meteorologist for NBC4 Washington, it creates a powerful public moment of visibility, community and support for families when children need healthcare.
Funds raised help Ronald McDonald House Washington DC provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families and promote healing. This includes lodging, meals, family-centered spaces and compassionate support that help families stay close to care, stay together and stay supported.
More than a race, Red Shoe 5K is a rallying point for the mission — building awareness, bringing the community together and giving people a tangible way to make an impact for families.
