As a member of Baldwin EMC, you’re part of something special. You’re more than just a customer; you’re actually an owner. That means Baldwin EMC is YOUR cooperative. We don’t answer to any distant shareholders or investors. Our only investors are YOU, and providing you with the most reliable service is our primary goal.
Baldwin EMC is also a not-for-profit organization. Any margins collected above the cost of doing business are refunded to our members in the form of capital credits. That’s another unique benefit of being a cooperative member and being a member of Baldwin EMC.
As a member, you have democratic control over your cooperative. Our policies are determined by an elected seven-member Board of Trustees. Our members elect these Trustees for three-year terms, which means they represent YOU—your wants, needs, and ideas. These things are never far from our minds.
That’s why we call you member. We work every day to provide the most reliable and affordable electricity possible and to improve the quality of life in our communities. We act like neighbors because we ARE neighbors. That’s the cooperative difference.
