"Runners 4 Recovery" in Jacksonville is this year's race charity. We're very pleased to give back to this group that has supported Daytona 100 in the past--and will again this year--by staffing the aid station at Church of the Nazarene in St. Augustine. Mike Martinez, the organization's Chair, explains that "Runners 4 Recovery" is a community of volunteers, sponsors, advocates, warriors, family and friends--individuals from all walks of life--brought together by a passion for running, whose mission is to provide access to resources for individuals who are in active recovery from alcohol or drug addiction. "We believe that pairing sports with addiction treatment recovery helps to keep individuals committed to their new choices." This non-profit supports ages 14-19 in adolescent programs and adult programs for men and women. All are local, near the race route in Jacksonville and surrounding areas.
