Hi I am Madeline Brandt and I am raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) in memory of my Papa. I was his little girlfriend and best friend. We all miss him so very much. I don’t want what happened to him to happen to anybody else.
My Papa cared and protected me. One time we went on a walk to the park. A mother goose flew over my head and bolted down at me, my elbow and knee were bleeding. Papa grabbed a golf club and scared the goose away. He helped me be safe he loved all of us.
My Papa made me laugh all the time. A funny story is when he was caught reading the lyrics out loud to let it go alone on the couch. I know he wanted to have all the words so we could sing it together.
I remember going to the Light the Night events for LLS at Forest Park with my Papa. He would carry the survivor lantern. Now when I go with my family we carry a memory lantern.
