Why am I passionate about Sounds of Sarah? This cause is deeply personal to me. Those who know me well are aware of my connection to it, and I almost held back from sharing this post to avoid the uncomfortable feelings that come with discussing my story. However, it is important to me. In August 2021, I lost my dad to an overdose, which has profoundly affected my life and my family's. The impact of his death will stay with me forever. I want to raise awareness about the prevalence of addiction and overdose, which are more common than many realize. To anyone still reading this, whether you’re a friend, family member, coworker, or someone I haven't spoken to since elementary school, I believe it's crucial for you to understand how close this issue is to all of us. My father was more than just his addiction, and I am more than the impact of that addiction. I want to take this opportunity to heal and raise awareness about this challenging subject, and I would appreciate your support in this journey.
