Who We Are
For more than 20 years, Voice of a Child has been a beacon of hope for vulnerable communities around the world. As a California-based public charity, we respond to urgent needs in education, disaster relief, child nutrition, and healthcare. Our volunteer-led team brings decades of global experience, and we are deeply committed to accountability, transparency, and measurable results. Every public donation goes directly to the people we serve.
Funds raised during Sevathon 2026 will go towards supporting the following projects
1. Village Schools Renovation Project, West Bengal, India
Together with Ananda Marga’s Education Department, Voice of a Child supports a network of 30 village schools serving more than 3,000 students. These schools are lifelines for children growing up in extreme poverty. For many families, education is their only hope for a better future. Yet the schools themselves often lack the most basic conditions children need to learn safely and with dignity.
Our current focus is the Primary School in Tatuara Village, where nearly 200 children from kindergarten through 5th grade come each day, eager to learn. With your support, Voice of a Child plans to complete this school by September 30 of this year. The project includes two toilets, a septic tank and plumbing, permanent stairs, plastered and painted walls, doors and windows, improved floor seating for younger children, and classroom furniture for older students. These are simple improvements, but they will make an extraordinary difference. They will give children a school where they can learn in safety, comfort, dignity, and hope.
2. Women's Sewing Enterprise, West Bengal, India
Women living in the rural villages surrounding Ananda Nagar (Purulia District, West Bengal) face persistent economic hardship, marked by low and irregular incomes, reliance on seasonal wage labor, and widespread underemployment.
The Ananda Nagar Women’s Sewing Enterprise aims to address these challenges by offering six-month work–study internship programs that build strong sewing and stitching competencies among women in the Purulia district. Through this initiative, we seek to equip participants with marketable skills, empower them to achieve financial independence, and support them in ultimately acquiring their own sewing machines.
3. White Lotus School, Jarabulus, Syria
Empower Syrian refugee children with life skills for the future. The border town of Jarabulus is host to more than 150,000 refugees. In 2023, VOC partnered with the local community to establish White Lotus Computer Technology Institute and White Lotus Kindergarten, ensuring a brighter future for the children and young adults within the refugee community.
4. Abha Seva Sadan Hospital, West Bengal, India
Established in 1963, Abha Seva Sadan Hospital currently serves over 100,000 people from 85 surrounding villages, providing essential healthcare services to this marginalized community located in one of the most impoverished and underdeveloped regions of India. For the villagers, this hospital is a vital lifeline for their medical needs, as the nearest alternative hospital is 25 kilometers away. VOC has partnered with the hospital to improve the facilities.

5. Evergreen School, Kerala, India
Despite Kerala’s high literacy rates, quality education is often unaffordable. Evergreen School near Kozhikode, Kerala, has filled this gap since 2006. Established by Voice of a Child and the Neo-Humanist Education Charitable Trust, Evergreen offers affordable, holistic education up to 7th grade, for 215 students. Evergreen School seeks donations to expand its impact, upgrade infrastructure, and support low-income families. Your contribution can make a valuable difference for some of Kerala’s most deserving children.
We invite you to join hands with Voice Of a Child and work towards uplifting the lives of families who are part of our humanitarian projects.
