DKG is The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International whose mission is to promote professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education worldwide. The Alpha Gamma Chapter of DKG is comprised of key women educators in Avery and Watauga Counties. Each year we enjoy working with the Blue Ridge Relay at Grandfather Mountain and the Linville exchange site. Funds raised during this volunteer project are used to provide annual scholarships for education majors at Appalachian State University and Lees McRae College in our two counties.
