When FRATL created the Atlanta Pride Run in 1991, it was launched to provide the community with what was desperately needed at the time – visibility and a united front in the face of fear and death. All the proceeds from the race went to AID ATLANTA , a nonprofit that was pivotal in many FRATL members' lives. It provided end-of-life care, grief counseling, and support groups for loved ones impacted by HIV/AIDs.
