12 Years!!
I participated in Pedal for the first time in 2013, shortly after my dad passed after a long battle with cancer. During his fight, he never stopped enjoying life or trying new things. He was a friend to many people. He was a son, brother, and uncle. More importantly, he was a dad and grandpa in the truest sense of those two words. I ride for Paul Thompson. I ride for my dad. I also ride for other friends and loved ones who have battled - or who are currently battling - cancer. One more impacted person is too many.
So what is Pedal? Pedal the Cause's mission is to provide critical funding for cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children's Hospital through its annual cycling challenge. Its hope is that research funded by PTC will ultimately lead to a cure for cancer. Founded in 2010 with the bold model of using public donations to fund world-class cancer research, Pedal the Cause has quickly become the gateway to curing cancer - all cancers, for everyone. Best of all, 100% OF EVERY DONATION GOES TO THIS VERY WORTHY CAUSE.
Pedal the Cause is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.
Over the last 11 years, we - YOU AND I - have raised over $25,275 together. Let's add to those totals in 2024. I've already kicked in the first $100 to get us started. I hope you'll join me.
