 I ride in memory of my Mom. She didn't like being called a warrior or strong in regards to her battle with cancer. She felt that her tears, doubts, and reluctance to fight made her anything but a warrior. The way she continued to walk in faith; to wake up every morning and do what needed to be done, even with tears in her eyes, is what made her such an nobel warrior. When she was first diagnosed with Primary CNS Lymphoma, her survival rate was around 30%. When her cancer came back months after finishing chemo...... those odds jumped down to under 5%. She beat the odds and survived brain cancer nearly 10 years after her diagnosis. 

The chemo, radiation, and bone-marrow transplant she underwent were life-saving, but the treatments were also a thief. Her strength, stability, eyesight, coordination, memory, intelligence, and so much more were slowly gone from her over the course of 10 years. I could write forever on the ways surviving cancer changed her. She hated that; we all hated that; and that is why I ride in this race. 

I want cancer treatment to be better. I want us to learn more about cancer so we can prevent it all together. The money made in this race stays in St. Louis to support cancer research and treatment. Please donate in honor of the warrior my Mom was and in honor of all the amazing things about her.
