Pedal the Cause

For the past 15 years, I have ridden in Pedal the Cause in memory of my mother, who passed away from ovarian cancer, and more recently, my father, who lost his battle with colon cancer. Their lives and their battles with cancer have always been a deeply personal part of why I ride.

After 12 years of riding, I took a three-year break. But this year, I’m back on the bike—and this time, I’m riding alongside my wife as part of the Siteman Cancer Center Radiation Accelerator team.

My wife knows firsthand what it means to fight cancer. She battled Hodgkin lymphoma, and watching her face that journey with courage and determination has given this ride an even deeper meaning for both of us.

This year, I’m riding in memory of my parents, in honor of my wife, and for everyone whose life has been touched by cancer. I’m proud to return to Pedal the Cause and to support the incredible work being done at Siteman Cancer Center and through cancer research.

Every mile carries a memory. Every pedal is a tribute. And every ride brings us one step closer to a world where fewer families have to experience the pain of losing someone they love to cancer.

I’m grateful to be back on the bike—and even more grateful to be riding this journey with my wife.
