I have signed-up to race the Unbound Gravel 100 mile race in Empire, Kansas on June 1st. I set a goal in October to do this race and I am super excited to support an amazing cause, The Chris Klug Foundation (CKF), a nonprofit that inspires and educates on the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation.
UNBOUND Gravel, known as the World’s Premier Gravel Event. UNBOUND is both a physical and a mental challenge as you speed through the Flint Hills of Kansas, often in high temperatures. I have been training and preparing for this race for months, and I am so excited to cross that finish line. I just completed the Swamp Fox Grand Fondo in Charleston, South Carolina and it was my first gravel race and I had a great time so I've included some photos from the event.
Did you know that over 103,000 adults and children are currently waiting for a lifesaving transplant? Each day 17 of these individuals die waiting for their transplant, while every 8 minutes, another person is added to the list. My participation in UNBOUND Gravel will help CKF raise funds to reach millions of people across the country to inspire and educate them about the importance of becoming a donor. I am truly honored to be supporting this mission and feel an immense amount of pride knowing that I may be able to help save a life.
