Wood Heat was founded in 1975 by Stu Ackerman during the energy crisis as a small side business to help earn some additional money for his family. The business began to grow and the original Wood Heat showroom was purchased on Route 212 in Pleasant Valley, PA. The growing business was truly a family affair with all members working at the store at one point or another. Today, Wood Heat is still owned and managed by the Ackerman family, and they are just as proud to help our valued customers as we were 50 years ago.
