As you may know, I've been swimming for 60 years, and I started at the Warren YWCA in preschool, moving to the YMCA shortly thereafter. Participating in the Peaks to Portland swim has become a highlight of my summer, and this event and other open water swims have become a good excuse to increase pool time during the rest of the year.
