My husbands Uncle was one of the evacuees, like so many thousands of others. And although he is one of the ones blessed enough to still have his home intact; we realize not everyone is so lucky. We talked to him when he could as he evacuated and it sounds like it was such a surreal and scary thing to experience. We watched like so many other people for Watch Duty updates and news clips and social media posts on Instagram from New Mexico Climate Change and loganfle - as our hearts broke over and over at the damage and destruction the fire created in our fellow mountain community. The floods came with more for this already devastated town.
In all the mist of the destruction, the community came together to help out both the firefighters and the community. Showing just how beautiful the world can be coming together.
Help me help them by making a donation. Big or small.
The South Fork and Salt fires in Ruidoso impacted approximately 1,400 structures and close to 5,000 people were required to evacuate their homes.
100% of your fundraising efforts will go to relief efforts to assist those impacted by this tragedy.
Much love!
