As parents of an active-duty Marine, Jim and I cannot comprehend the pain and suffering that Gold Star families endure each day. As the founders of Memories of Honor, many of these families have become like our extended family. We've had the privilege of spending time with these families, sharing both laughter and tears as they open up about their daily struggles. One thing has become clear: grief doesn't follow a timetable. While we go about our lives celebrating milestones, these families no longer have that luxury. As each year's holiday approaches, they prepare for a different kind of calendar – one marked by grief. These dates serve as stark reminders of their loss and the missed memories with their loved ones. We can't bring back those they've lost, but as a nation, we carry a debt we can never fully repay. Nevertheless, it's our duty to take action every single day to try.

Through our mission and programs, Memories of Honor can bring some peace and comfort to these families. We understand that the current economy has made these trying times for all, but every single dollar counts, and we can't do it without you. The money raised through this fundraiser and event will help Memories of Honor send surviving families to a very healing athletic event called the Bataan Memorial Death March at White Sands Missile Range, NM. These funds will help cover entry fees, housing, team gear, and team dinners. Each family member costs approximately $800 without transportation, but with enough funding, we can also take care of transportation costs.

Jim and I aim to raise funds to cover the expenses for at least two, if not more, family members personally. Would you help us get as many families to this healing "active retreat" as possible?
