Welcome to The Roseland Ceasefire Project, a groundbreaking gun violence prevention and reduction initiative launched in March 2006 with the guidance and leadership of the Chicago Violence Prevention Project. Roseland Ceasefire’s ecosystem is based on a deep commitment in community-based street outreach, victim services, case management and prevention services.  With boots on the ground, we actively seek out residents and their families who have been, or are at risk of violent crimes, particularly gun violence.

Roseland Ceasefire’s fundamental model is based on evidence-informed practices that have proven to mitigate violence through identifying, and working with high-risk individuals, providing tools and services to help them thrive, and minimize violent tendencies; resulting in a mindset change that reduces criminal activity in and around our neighborhoods. In fact, ground-level community synergy with Roseland Ceasefire is an essential component of the violence reduction approach.  Indeed, RCF has a long history of working with community organizations to increase its reach and impact on the community. Those organizations include, but are not limited to, the Chicago Police Department, suburban police departments, Roseland Community Hospital, Advocate Health Systems, local faith leaders, and sister community organizations, and the State and County grantors who support us.
