100,000 Reasons Challenge

The "silent killer" it don't hit home until it happens to you. November 29, 2022, 2wks after having a hysterectomy. My leg felt heavy and sore, like I pulled a muscle. I was out of breath. Trying to get a shower felt like it was taking everything I had. The pain was ridiculous in my leg. I was already headed to my PCP for an appt so I figured I would just bring it up there. He sent me straight to the hospital for an ultrasound and what would then change my life forever. The next thing I remember is the words "you're being admitted, DVT and PE. The IR doctor came in after being admitted, I was diagnosed with May-thurners and would need to be stented when he went in to remove the clots that were from my groin to my ankle. 2yrs later and I'm still one of his worse cases. They still don't know how I made it as long as I did without having complications before. I still have pain and swelling but this is my life, I'm still a survivor!
