Sarcomas are <1% of all cancers. For many patients, theirs is the first case their physician has seen. It took 11 months from the time I started experiencing pain in my chest until I was diagnosed, and that is short compared to many patients. I am lucky to live less than 30 minutes from a high-volume sarcoma center, where a large team of specialists collaborate to deliver the best care; many sarcoma patients have to travel long distances to find doctors who understand their illness.
The Race to Cure Sarcoma will take place two months after my surgery, and I am excited to walk the 3.1 miles to raise money and awareness for the Sarcoma Foundation of America.
Please help us spread awareness and support research by donating to my fundraising effort. If you’re in the Boston area, I would love if you could join us on Boston Common on April 6 to run or walk. Be sure to join Team JuJu when you sign up. It’s going to be a great event!
