Our Story

Kelly and Brandie are sorority sisters who were both diagnosed with sarcoma in 2016 and 2021, respectively. After meeting in college at San Diego State, Kelly became Brandie's "Big Ivy Sis" in Alpha Phi. Though life took them down different paths, they were reunited after Brandie received her leiomyosarcoma diagnosis in 2021. For the past three years, Kelly and Brandie supported one another through their fight with sarcoma, coming together to raise funds and awareness of this insidious disease.
Tragically, we lost Kelly on February 18, 2025 after nine long years of fighting chondrosarcoma. The weekend of this year's San Francisco race would have been Kelly's 42nd birthday. Let's honor Kelly and make her proud by having our most successful year yet.
