Markeyse’s battle with sarcoma was heartbreakingly short. In less than a year from his diagnosis, we watched someone full of life, humor, and love fight with everything he had. His strength never wavered, even when the disease tried to steal his light. Though he lost his battle, his story doesn’t end there. By supporting sarcoma research, we can help ensure that others have more time, more options, and more hope.
Thanks to the Race to Cure Sarcoma events, the Sarcoma Foundation of America has invested over $20 million into groundbreaking research—funding more than 200 grants across 12 countries, contributing nearly 200 scientific publications, and advancing the global understanding of this rare cancer. This work has generated over $26 million in additional funding, supported more than 10 clinical trials
When you donate or participate in RTCS events, you aren’t just giving money you’re giving families time, you’re giving patients a fighting chance, and you’re helping push the science forward so that one day, everyone will have a successful battle. Your support honors his memory and fuels the mission to find better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
