Why I Race for Sean

Some of my fondest memories growing up include my cousin, Sean. Just three days younger than my brother, Sean wasn’t simply a cousin—he was another brother. Family trips, holidays, sporting events, and so many of the moments that shaped my childhood were shared by the five of us.

At just 23 years old, Sean lost his battle with sarcoma. Since then, our responsibility has been to keep his memory alive while continuing the fight for a cure so that other families may one day be spared the loss ours experienced.

Through Race to Cure Sarcoma events, the Sarcoma Foundation of America has funded more than 200 research grants across 12 countries. That research has contributed to nearly 200 scientific publications, helped generate more than $26 million in additional funding, supported more than 10 clinical trials—with several more pending—and resulted in two patents.

These aren’t just numbers. They represent progress, hope, and the possibility of more lives saved.

Your investment in Race to Cure Sarcoma is an investment in finding better treatments, advancing research, and ultimately saving lives.

Thank you for your generosity, your support, and for helping us honor Sean’s memory by continuing the fight against this terrible disease.
