As many of you know, in July 2021, I lost my baby sister, Lauren, my best friend, to a rare soft tissue sarcoma.
I’ve fundraised a lot in the past, but this is extra special because this money goes directly to fight for the research she never got. I'm participating in the Sarcoma Foundation of America 'Race to Cure Sarcoma' 5k in Denver on October 25th.
Because rare cancers like hers don't have enough funding, Lauren had no "set" treatment plan and had to rely on outdated options. I want to change that. By donating, you are directly supporting the research and education that will lead to targeted, effective treatments for children and adults with rare sarcomas.
Your donation goes directly to funding the critical research and education needed for modern, effective sarcoma treatments.
Would love it if you could help me honor Lauren's life and her diagnosis. Her diagnosis never defined her, but it did kill her. And I want to help in changing that for anyone else receiving a sarcoma diagnosis going forward.
From the Sarcoma Foundation of America: Thanks to the Race to Cure Sarcoma events, SFA has invested over $20 million in sarcoma research, funding over 200 grants in 12 countries leading to close to 200 total publications, adding to the sarcoma research discourse. This has led to $26 million+ in additional funding, 10+ clinical trials with 5 additional pending, and 2 patents. Your investment in the RTCS events, is an investment in saving lives.
