Thank you for joining Team Sue Sue! We are incredibly honored that you have joined forces with us to participate in such a meaningful community wide event. Last year, in our "rookie season," our team won First Place in fundraising. Well, records are made to be broken, and the cause is just as meaningful. Each and every one of you can make a difference.
Susan's Journey
On May 10, 2023, Susan was on her daily power walk when her tiny but powerful body suddenly fell to the pavement. Just hours later, our fearless, happy, healthy and beautiful wife, mom, sister and friend was diagnosed with a glioblastoma (“GBM”) that could not be surgically removed, and which would require immediate and aggressive treatment. This tumor, which we have now renamed a “cerebral terrorist,” had no idea whose brain it was messing with. For the past 27 months, and with the expert guidance of an incredible team, Sue Sue’s tumor is stable, but as we have been made well aware, there are no “timeouts,” and do overs are out of the question. The bottom line is that Sue Sue is in a fight with an opponent that is not accustomed to losing. Fortunately, neither does Sue Sue. That’s where you come in.
It is absolutely critical that funds continue to be raised to advance research into effectively treating and curing brain tumors. The good news is that progress is being made, even In the very short time that we have joined this “community” But, it is equally clear that the team of experts in the brain tumor research community need to continue to put the pedal to the metal. Why? Because brain tumors aren’t accustomed to coming in second, and like to win. For Susan, and the thousands of others who were dealt this unfortunate curve ball, that is simply not an acceptable option.
Team Sue Sue would be honored to have you join us. For those of you who have already joined the team or thinking about joining, you know we don’t lack in enthusiasm, energy and love. For those of you looking to join a team, we’d love to have you. We have a race to win, and cannot wait to meet the amazing SBTF community on race day.
Thanks so much!
Love, your fearless leaders - Jeff, Joseph and Susan Brickman
