For more than 60 years, the Gifford School has helped students develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive in school and beyond. Through individualized education, therapeutic supports, and a strong commitment to student well-being, Gifford serves children whose needs often cannot be met in traditional educational settings.

The Gifford School is a therapeutic day school that partners with public school districts to educate students with complex social, emotional and learning challenges that may include one or more of the following:

-Autism spectrum disorder
-Attention deficit disorder
-Anxiety disorder
-Executive functioning difficulties
-Non-verbal learning disability
-Mood and self-regulation challenges
-Trauma related disorders

Students from 4th grade through high school are referred to the Gifford School by their public school districts. Each year we serve up to 105 students from more than 50 towns and communities. The Gifford School admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.

Gifford's primary source of funding is tuition paid by the public school districts we serve. While that funding supports our core educational program, philanthropic support makes it possible to invest in strategic initiatives, innovative programs, and enhancements that fall outside of our operating budget and directly enrich the student experience.

As part of our current five-year Strategic Plan, developed in partnership with families, staff, public school district partners, and our Board of Directors, we are investing in initiatives that strengthen both academic success and student well-being. Funds raised through the Flutie 5K will help advance strategic priorities such as expanding literacy and reading supports, enhancing transition and vocational programming, strengthening clinical and related services, and creating innovative learning environments, including the completion of new outdoor occupational therapy and sensory spaces that will support movement, sensory regulation, and student well-being.

Will you help us take another step toward achieving our strategic vision? Funds raised through the Flutie 5K will support the implementation of Gifford's strategic priorities, helping us expand opportunities for learning, wellness, independence, and student success through innovative programs, services, and learning environments.
