The **Black Autism Coalition (BAC)** is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Black, Brown, immigrant, and underserved families raising autistic children and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Founded by a mother of two autistic sons, BAC was created to address the racial, cultural, and language barriers that too many families face when seeking a diagnosis, services, education, and community support.

Our mission is to ensure that every family has access to the information, advocacy, and resources they need to help their loved ones thrive regardless of race, language, income, or background. We believe that no family should have to navigate the autism journey alone.

Through culturally responsive programming, BAC provides bilingual workshops, parent support groups, IEP advocacy, community outreach, inclusive recreational programs, caregiver education, and leadership opportunities for families. We proudly serve many Haitian Creole-speaking families and work to eliminate language barriers by offering resources in both English and Haitian Creole.

Our vision is a future where autistic individuals are accepted, included, and supported throughout every stage of life, and where families are empowered to become confident advocates for their children and leaders within their communities.

Every dollar raised helps us provide free educational programs, connect families with critical resources, promote inclusion, and build stronger, more equitable communities where every autistic individual is valued, respected, and given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Every family deserves hope, support, and the opportunity to thrive but for many Black, Brown, immigrant, and underserved families raising an autistic child, that journey is filled with barriers. Families often face delayed diagnoses, language obstacles, limited access to culturally responsive services, and the overwhelming challenge of navigating complex systems alone.

The Black Autism Coalition was founded to change that.

We believe that no family should ever feel isolated because of their race, language, income, or the complexity of their child's needs. Every day, we empower families through advocacy, education, peer support, and community connection. We provide bilingual resources, parent workshops, support groups, inclusive programs, and one-on-one guidance that help families gain the knowledge and confidence to advocate for their loved ones.

For many parents, we are the first place they turn after receiving an autism diagnosis. We help them understand their rights, navigate special education, access services, and build a community where they know they belong. We don't just provide information—we build relationships, restore hope, and create lasting change.
