Melmark New England (MNE) is a human service provider dedicated to serving children, adolescents and adults with autism spectrum disorders, neurological and neuro-developmental disorders, acquired brain injuries and severe challenging behaviors. We are committed to enhancing the lives of the individuals we serve and their families by providing exceptional evidence-based and applied behavior analytic services to every individual, every day.
MNE’s programs and services include two state-of-the-art private special education children’s day schools located in Andover and Stoughton, residential programs for children and adults, an adult day program (Currently located in Lawrence and opening soon in Tewksbury!), and vocational services.

Last year, Melmark was approved by the MA Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to establish an intentional adult community to address an ever-growing need in the state for evidence-based, instructional adult services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This spring, MNE broke ground on a 3-acre site in Tewksbury that will include four residences, housing a total of 20+ adults, an instructional and vocational day program for 50+ individuals, a vocational coffee shop and greenhouse, daily living activities, supports, community engagement, recreational opportunities, and affordable staff housing. With an expected cost of over $16 million, construction is slated for completion in the spring of 2026. Melmark’s goal for adult services is to expand the continuum of care to include viable, cost-effective alternatives that enhance the current service choices. This model offers staffing efficiencies in light of the national human services workforce crisis and will provide comprehensive public policy guidelines that can be replicated by other human services providers.
