In one way or another, plants and landscapes have been a compelling part of my life for as long as I can remember. In my formative years, I found great delight mucking about in local creeks and exploring agrarian-edge woodlands that I imagined as primeval forests. I vividly remember the fields of grasses—head high, with their breathtaking amber glow of autumn obscuring my view. It felt adventurous, like blazing a trail into the unknown. The days helping in my mother’s nursery and gardens were equally satisfying. There was magic in seeing ribbons of flowers emerging from billowy prairie grasses, and stumbling upon the imperfect perfection of gnarly tree forms. To this day, I am still enamored with the journey.

Our garden designs activate landscapes through artfully composed plantings and architectural design, enticing people to explore and discover the healing powers of nature. We draw on these lessons from nature to develop places that evolve as beautifully designed habitats where ecology and people intersect. Yes, these gardens make the planet better by providing healthy habitat for pollinators and wildlife—but they are also about you and the beauty and joy you crave in your life. Those things do not have to be mutually exclusive. You can have it all.

Our team works collaboratively to develop thoughtful solutions for landscape design, drawing from our backgrounds in science and the visual and applied arts. We approach each garden with the goal of creating a remarkable place specific to you and your surroundings. 

Conceptual Design & Development
From analyzing the site and its inherent attributes, we develop a conceptual design that focuses on activating your space to create a thriving, dynamic landscape that seats your home gracefully inside it. We believe the best designs result from a collaborative effort between you, our team and qualified building and design trades.

We play a primary and integral role in the construction of the gardens and landscapes we design. Our highly skilled and experienced team is always on site to install and oversee progress on your build. We handle prepping the site, amending soils, installing hardscape and planting.

We design our gardens and landscapes to require little to no supplemental watering and mulching once established. That said, our gardens are dynamic and evolving landscapes that require periodic maintenance and amendments to preserve the integrity of the design. If you do not delight in garden editing, we offer maintenance programs performed by our in-house staff of highly trained horticulturalists and gardeners.
