DuPage County ACT-SO is a local chapter of the National ACT-SO program that has been in existence since 1977. ACT-SO is the brainchild of the world-renowned author and Chicago journalist Vernon Jarrett. The program seeks to galvanize the community in encouraging and supporting academic and artistic excellence.
Students participate in a 9-month enrichment program supported by professional mentors and coaches. Our student participants enhance their presentation skills, raise their self-confidence, gain a greater realization of their talents and abilities, and refine their interest in college majors and careers.
