The Ritz has a "Rich" History
The Ritz was opened in December, 1938, at 213 S. Main Street on a site in Malvern which had previously been destroyed by fire twice (1897 and 1937). it was built in the "Art Moderne" style and was very glamorous in every detail. It was the first theatre in the south to have air conditioning.
The Ritz Theatre in Malvern is currently the second oldest operating movie theater in the state of Arkansas.
