Mission Northeast is a 501 (c) 3 faith based non profit organization. In April we'll be celebrating 26 years of serving our community through free programs and services for people in need. These include food, clothing, household items, cleaning supplies; adult education and job training; ESL and GED onsite; special assistance for seniors; Thanksgiving and Christmas distributions; Safe Haven, a home repair program for seniors and disabled; a site for Project Mammogram, tax assistance, Medicare and Medicaid options; a site for Feed My Lambs (now a 19 year old program) and more. We do not sell anything or operate a retail business. Our contributions come from individuals, businesses, churches, and community organizations. While COVID necessitated changes in our mode of operations, we did not shut down for any time at all. From March 17 - December 17, 2020, we provided over 60,000 individuals with food, hygiene items and cleaning supplies via drive-by/no contact mode. We helped hundreds of families with financial assistance, ranging from rent/mortgage to utilities, prescriptions, child care, tuition, and all basic needs that were compromised due to COVID. In 2020 we distributed over 1.3 million pounds of food.
COVID continues to impact our community, and the needs are great.
We also have a special heart for our seniors and disabled, with a monthly home delivery of food and other necessities, and special assistance during the holidays. We provide backpacks with weekend food for an area middle school where children would otherwise not have anything to eat.
Your contributions will help us continue to serve the needy in 11 zip codes, a service area of over 800 square miles. Thank you for supporting Mission Northeast. Learn more about us through FB, Mission-Northeast or our website, www.missionne.org
