Hi friends!
July 9th I will be making my dream a reality and swimming in the Maggie Fischer Cross Bay Swim! The Cross Bay Swim is a challenging open water swim of 5.5 miles across Great South Bay from the Fire Island Lighthouse to Gilbert Park, Brightwaters. This event was first held in 1927, marking 95+ years of tradition and friendly competition. The swim will begin at the Fire Island Lighthouse and ends at Walker Park in Brightwaters. I have been training since March and have been swimming in the bay since the beginning of June. I hope to raise $500 for the Hospice Care Network Children and Family Bereavement in Bay Shore. It is a great organization that provides group and individual counseling, referrals, educational workshops, support programs and much more. A portion of the fundraising is also given to a scholarship at St. Anthony High School. Any amount, big or small, is greatly appreciated!
