Who We Are: One Million Monarchs is a nonprofit organization created to support Teens who are grieving the loss of a parent, sibling or close friend. We do this by encouraging expression and personal growth, supporting grieving parents, and providing resources to lessen the financial burden of loss. We celebrate our vision that you “Grow Through What You Go Through” as we help bereaved teens and their families honor their loved ones by fulfilling their own true potential, giving back to others and working to find purpose in the loss they experienced. Helping teens stay on course and focused on their future goals is at the heart of what we do.
What We Do: Through our programs, One Million Monarchs provides guidance and community assistance to individuals and families in the form of a resource network to lessen the burden of researching and seeking out these resources on their own. Additional activities of the organization are focused on engaging the student and his or her family in positive ways, such as: personal expression through the Arts, being of service to others, a scholarship program to keep students motivated to achieve their future goals, a mentorship program, Parenting Through Grief support group, and an annual family retreat focused on developing new family traditions.
