Palmetto Electric Cooperative, Your Touchstone Energy® Partner, is one of South Carolina’s customer-owned utilities. Although our members receive electricity at the lowest possible cost, this is not the only benefit of cooperative membership. Members may participate in innovative programs and services tailored to meet their needs.

History – Palmetto Electric Cooperative was formed in 1940 by enterprising rural residents in response to the refusal by investor-owned utilities to serve rural areas.
