Tania de la Rosa Garzon, a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, and friend, lived with a resilient spirit despite the challenges of epilepsy, inspiring those around her with unconditional love and determination. At just 22 years old, Tania was called from this physical world after a 14 year long battle.
Tania never allowed the hardships she faced due to epilepsy to dampen her warrior spirit. She was in the midst of pursuing her degree in psychology from the University of Cincinnati, dreaming of going to med school one day to become a neurosurgeon. She excelled in sports, music, and academics, and was fiercely passionate about justice, the protection of animals, and helping those in need. Her vibrant personality and kindness touched the lives of everyone she met.
Tania was also immensely proud of her Mexican heritage, and cherished the relationships she built with her extended family that lived there. She formed especially meaningful relationships with her grandparents, and aspired to follow in the footsteps of her grandfathers, who were both doctors.
Tania's legacy and perseverance of love and kindness in the face of hardships will live on in the memory and hearts of all those who love her, and her life motto reminds us that every day is an opportunity to start again. Nunc Coepi - Now I Begin.
