Teal Diva 5k for Gynecologic Cancers

On May 3, 2025 our team, Carolinas Natural Health Center, will join hundreds of community members as we raise our voices against gynecologic cancers. In 2025, it is estimated that over 114,810 women will be diagnosed with a gynecologic cancer and over 34,200 will die as a result of the diseases. We can all make a difference in the fight against gynecologic cancers.

On May 3, 2024 my team (Carolinas Natural Health Center) and I will join hundreds of community members as we raise our voices against ovarian and other gynecologic cancers. 

This is my 9th year anniversary as an ovarian cancer survivor.  My first Teal Diva race was 3-weeks after my first carbo-taxol infusion.  I was losing my hair but my hope remained strong.  The fear I had back in 2016 when I first googled "survivor rates of serous ovarian cancer stage 3C" and read the terrifying results of "5 year survival rate 34%" is still a strong memory.  However, I knew then, just like I know now that I would not be that statistic.  And, according to all the latest numbers, currently,  I have a 17% chance of being here today ALIVE with NO recurrence.  But,  I need your help this year raising funds and awareness so that other women do not succumb to this life-taking and life-altering disease.
