Santa Monica Mountains Fund works to protect and encourage appreciation and understanding of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, where several races are held including the Great Race's own Chesebro Half Marathon. SAMO Fund serves as the official partner of the National Park Service in our beautiful mountains. We support habitat restoration, hiking trail improvement, educational programs, wildlife conservation, as well as rebuilding the historic Paramount Ranch, which has historically been the site of the Great Race's Pacific Half Marathon. This year funds will be used to support wildlife research and habitat restoration in the Santa Monica Mountains.
