65 years ago four brothers had an idea to offer the best fruits and vegetables in the Boston area. Two of the brothers were getting out of the Navy, one was getting out of the Army and one was getting out of high school. They grew up in the south end of Boston and dreamed of owning a business in their back yard. All four pitched in, bought a truck and started out on Morrissey blvd. in Dorchester; before the Boston Globe, before Channel 56, before U Mass and B.C. high school were there. Lambert’s still there today bigger and better than ever.

Lambert’s is now a third generation company and its operations have expanded beyond fruit and produce to include a New York Style Deli, Salad bar, soups and sandwiches catering, grocery lines both imported and domestic. We have Garden centers at each location, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The full Garden centers in Hingham and Westwood can deliver New England processed mulch to almost anywhere in the Ma. Area.

At Lamberts we work our own stores. Whether its Billy, Danny, or Big Bill in Dorchester or Johno, Nino, or George in Westwood; we are on the floor making sure that you get the quality, service, and price that have become the foundation of our success. Our fonder, George senior, always said “if you give someone more than they expect, they will always come back.” This has be our definition of value: give you more than you expect in quality service and price. The rest is easy and will always fall into place.

At Lamberts we want to be the best, we work to hard not to be. Educated by tradition driven by pride is more than just a motto it’s our way of life.
