Recognizing the need for a comprehensive community health center to meet the needs of the medically underserved in Palm Beach County, the community rallied around the formation of a new federally qualified health center in the county, and FoundCare applied for the designation. FoundCare began offering primary care services in 2009, was granted Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) “Look Alike” status in 2010, and finally granted full status as an FQHC in 2013. It was during this time that CAP and FoundCare merged, with CAP becoming a program of FoundCare.
