As many of you know, our lives changed forever the day our beautiful daughter was born. Since Alana was born with various serious birth defects, it has been a journey full of challenges, hope, and perseverance. Throughout this time, our family has received so much love and support, but one of the greatest blessings was the help we received from the Ronald McDonald House.

During a very difficult time, when we were far from home and in a place of uncertainty, the Ronald McDonald House gave us a safe, welcoming space to stay. It became a home for us when we didn’t know where to turn. The comfort of being close to our daughter while she received care at the hospital meant the world to us.

As a former RMH family, former volunteer, and now as a full-time employee, I'm promoting the 15th anniversary of our AMAZING Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maryland Red Shoe Shuffle 5K Run & Walk – to give back and help raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House so that other families can receive the same support we did. The care and kindness that organization provides are invaluable, and I want to ensure that it continues to be there for families who need it most.
