Usually, agencies from across North Carolina would be running the Flame of Hope across North Carolina, where it would end in Raleigh for the opening ceremony for the Special Olympics NC Summer Games. Unfortunately, we’re currently not able to carry out this tradition, but we are determined to be a game-changer and let the athletes know we haven’t forgotten them by doing a virtual run.
I ask you to join in the fun. The way it works is you set a goal that you would like to raise, and for every mile, you run or walk in May, you donate a quarter. Also, after each workout, we ask you to post a picture to social media and tell us how many miles you ran or walked. You can even dedicate a run/walk to someone special in your life.
You are welcome to join the NCSU Police Department Team!
Join us in bringing awareness and raising funds for those with intellectual disabilities in North Carolina.
If you have any questions, you can contact Lt. Bill Davis.
