Legs can be very physical and also metaphorical; sometimes, all people need is a leg to stand on. The Charles Webb Center is the only preschool in the Charleston area that serves children with special needs and developmental delays. These kids are often not accepted at "normal" preschools, so the Webb Center steps in to help them socialize, learn, and get the therapies they need. It is also a lifeline for parents who would otherwise have to choose between working and having their children at home. As we all know, this is not a choice that all parents can easily make.
This year, more than ever, the Webb Center needs your help. Our main fundraiser, the Avondale 5K Run and Walk, became, like many races, virtual, with fewer runners and fundraisers. Our sponsors are also suffering due to COVID-19; while they gave what they could, we have fallen short of our goal.
