“At the Huntington Learning Center of California, Maryland, our mission is to give every student the best education possible,” stated Tari Moore, the Center’s owner and Executive Director. “This is the core of everything we do.”

Located in the Wildewood Shopping Center in St Mary’s County, the Center focuses on helping students achieve their goals by creating an individualized learning program which pinpoints each student’s specific needs.

“For younger students, it can be as simple as filling in academic or skill gaps missed along the way that have prevented them from achieving their potential,” stated Ms. Moore. “For high school students, it’s more about subject tutoring or exam practice and preparation to maximize their score on the ACT/SAT test, so they can get into their college or university of choice and/or create scholarship opportunities. Some students just need help with study skills and tips. No matter what the need, we are committed to helping students realize and achieve their goals.”

Moore said, “With the huge emphasis on STEM (science, technology engineering, and math) in today’s world, sometimes we forget the importance of the basics – reading, phonics, vocabulary, and writing. Yet mastery of those skills are the very foundation of all education.”

Huntington Learning Center is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and is nationally recognized with more than 40 years of experience as the oldest provider of supplemental educational services for primary and secondary students in the U.S.
