Virtual Racing - How Does it Work?

Virtual running works exactly the same as any other type of running but the difference is that the entered race can be run at any location, at any pace, inside on a treadmill or outside in another country! All you have to do is register and be able to time your run or walk over a measured distance of 8k (4.97 miles).

Run/walks accomplished from March 1 through March 15 can be counted.

You can expect the following emails:

March 1 @ 8am - reminder that the event is now underway
March 1 @ 5pm - notice of how to report your time
March 10 @ 10am - reminder to complete your run and report your time
March 15 @ 10am - last chance reminder to complete your run and report your time by 11:59pm

Each email will contain a link for reporting the data.  You can also go to the RESULTS link at the top of this page or on the Score This running calendar.

Participants in the Virtual Race can also download the RaceJoy app and complete your personal run/walk with your own 5k course anywhere.  (RaceJoy is a free phone app for iPhone & Android devices.)

Available for Apple and Android devices.

PLEASE NOTE: Important In-Person Race Information

Packet Pickup for participants in the "LIVE" race:

New Registrations beginning 2/20 not available until:

Saturday Feb 27 from 10am through 3pm at the Old First Ward Community Center.

Start Times / Groups:

We ask that you remain in your vehicle until 5 minutes before your assigned starting time.  A "trickle start" will be employed. THIS IS NOT A GROUP START.   As you arrive at the start area, maintain social distancing (6ft and approximately 15 seconds) and proceed to the start line.  Once at the 2nd red timing mat, wait for the volunteer to "release" you.

As you finish, proceed past the timing mats and collect any post race items (bottled water, pre-packed food items) and then proceed directly to you vehicle.  There will be no post race party or awards ceremony.   Results will be online @ Score-This.com running calendar page later in the afternoon.  Onsite results will not be posted.

Spectators will not be allowed as they increase our person density and risks having the event cancelled while in progress.
